Fight
It is often said that the only thing the dwarves love more than their mithril and their food and drink is fighting!
While the areas around Moria are peaceful in the Second Age following the defeat of Morgoth, there’s plenty of fun to be had practicing in Moria’s fighting rings.
There are multiple activities available at the fighting rings that mean fun for the whole family!
- Spectating: Perfect for those who just want to sit back with a meat pie and a horn of mead and watch some (well-intended) violence.
- Fighting: For those adventurers who are looking for glory or just hit each other with swords*, this is the activity for you.
- Fighting Lessons: For those who are interested in stepping into the ring, but have never fought before. Lessons are available all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the fighting rings.
*Note that all swords used in the fighting ring are blunted. Safety gear is provided for lessons, fighters are expected to bring their own armored kit for sparring.

Mithril is a precious metal that only the dwarves known the secret to working. Moria sits on top of vast mines full of mithril and it’s not going to mine itself!
Mining is a safe and fun activity for the whole family. We’ve found that human children are especially adept at fitting into tunnels too small even for dwarves.
Not only is mining fun, but it can be profitable work too! The dwarves of Moria generously allow for volunteer miners to take home 20% of whatever they mine for the day. What could be better than a vacation that pays for itself?
Just be sure not to delve too deeply and too greedily, you never know what might sleep in the depths of Middle Earth, gnawing at the roots of the Misty Mountains, but we’re confident that you won’t wake any nameless things on your vacation to the Mines of Moria.
